The other day I was carrying my route and a young man came up to my truck with a question. After he left, I couldn’t help but think I knew this young man. You see, probably 13 years ago, I would go into city and pick up some young boys and take them to my church to play basketball and short bible study. Carol and I took them swimming and other things. They could really be trying at times but it was very rewarding. Many of these young boys were from broken families yet the single parents were doing there best. So back to the story. I recognized this young man as Ace. It was one of those feelings that you just know it but that I may never see him again. I even thought I might write Ace on his mail the next day to see if I could get a reaction. But before I could do anything the next day he came back up to the truck. He needed a stamp. I asked him if he use to live on Topping. He said no. I asked him if his name was Ace and he said no. Kinda defensive. I then told him that I use to pick up kids, and before I could finish he said “Bruce”. It was him. What a blessing. We talked about old times and the other guys. A couple are doing good and one is in prison. It was so awesome. He is studying international law at the junior college and is working at a collection agency. I couldn’t believe this young man was the same gangly boy with the sheik doorag. It’s kinda like Pastor said about the coffee bean. And how long it takes to be productive. I just want to thank God for allowing me to be involved in this mans life and to see him years later. To Him be the Glory. What a blessing.
That is incredible, this is very encouraging! Praise God!
